Updating My Skills

Mood: Excited
Listening to: "Whenever, Wherever" - Shakira

We have three Middle Eastern Dance practices coming up! I'm so excited that we are going to be performing at Capital A 'Fair! I love to dance, but this year it also brings me a sense of normalcy and nostalgia which I've been desperately needing.

JOB HUNT: This morning I think I am finally coming to peace with my job loss. Yesterday I realized that much of this summer and beyond I would've been mostly going to Arts and Crafts to work (stuffing envelopes in the back shop), because there just wasn't much work coming in. Then I'd start feeling like the red-headed step-child who gets sent to the back, and that would've really stunk! I would've been doing mostly camera-ready work and wanting actual design projects.

I want to use the skills I've gained, and I've gained a lot besides graphic design skills:
  1. Patience under pressure! Patience with high strung people!
  2. Awareness that I can teach myself when I really have to!
  3. Persistence (when struggling on a difficult project)
  4. Adaptability
  5. Courage to keep going (even if I'm afraid or nervous)

FITNESS: Nikhil and I are going for a run tonight! We are getting back on track this week with exercising regularly and eating healthier.

FOODIE: Middle Eastern Night possibly in August?
    1. Falafel
    2. Spanakopita
    3. Greek Meatballs with Feta Cheese
