Mood: Caffeinated
"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." James 4:8
FAITH: I finally got to see my friend, Rachel, last night. We were planning to have a double date in March, but then the pandemic hit. She is a recent convert to Catholicism, and she is a true inspiration. Last night we went for a walk after supper. Rachel had said something she's learned is "What does God want? What does the world want?"
I was impressed that Rachel is starting to learn Hebrew. (Her boyfriend is a linguist and currently teaches Psychology at a local college.) I told her that I definitely would have time to learn Hindi this summer!
A relationship with the Lord needs nurturing. He's there for us, but to get to know Him better, we need to spend time with Him: pray daily, read scripture, attend Mass, etc. Ask ourselves, "What does the Lord want for me?"
FOODIE: Last night Rachel's boyfriend, Al, whipped together a delicious meal of Caesar salad, poached salmon, creamy mashed cauliflower, and broccoli, paired with Chardonnay. For dessert Al served grapes with cheese. I asked where I could leave his tip! Al said he enjoys entertaining in that manner. Nikhil and I visited after his volleyball game, and he reminded me that Al was following his European roots, being Scottish. It inspired me in planning future meals for Nikhil. Entertain like the Europeans do! Slow down, visit, and enjoy each others' company more.
I'm getting excited to go to Medora with Nikhil this weekend for camping and hiking.
